Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Utility Operator to operate and maintain industrial chillers and air conditioning systems.
The candidate must have strong knowledge and hands-on experience with different types of HVAC compressors, including reciprocating and scroll compressors.
The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial chillers and AC systems.
- Handle different chiller compressor types, including reciprocating, screw, and scroll compressors.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance, including:
- Refrigerant gas level and leak checks.
- Monitoring suction/discharge pressures and temperatures.
- Cleaning and replacing air filters.
- Inspecting and cleaning condenser coils.
- Diagnose faults, perform corrective maintenance, and carry out minor repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reporting.
- Support scheduled shutdowns, overhauls, and major maintenance works.
- Follow safety standards and ensure energy-efficient operation of equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma/Certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical, or Electrical.
- 2–3 years’ experience in chiller and AC operation/maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of reciprocating, screw, and scroll compressors.
- Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues.
- Familiar with preventive and corrective maintenance best practices.
- Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Work Conditions:
- Full-time, site-based role.
- May require working in shifts and attending emergency breakdowns, and working overtime.
- Indoor/outdoor environment, depending on equipment location.
